Travis Minnich-Lead PastorActivities God has created me as an artistic person. Whether I am putting together a lesson for our students, working in my graphic designs, making a custom shaped cake or spending time working in the traditional arts it is at my core. This passion helps me to enjoy watching my children grow and develop their own unique and amazing talents and abilities that God has blessed them with. Interests I am interested in growing as a man of God. Being formed into what God sees in me and not what I am able to do on my own. Through this process I am able to be a better husband, father and pastor. Passions I am passionate about living a life that truly reflects being a disciple of Christ. As I spend time with my Father through reading His word, prayer and fasting I become more like His. As I allow Christ to disciple me he increases and I decrease, I become more like him. It is a great responsibility and honor to be able to speak into the lives of our students. With this comes discipleship. One thing that I have learned over the years is that you cannot reproduce what you are not. It is my desire to see students grow closer in their relationship with Christ and discover who He truly is and why he created them the way they are. The only way that I can see this fulfilled is to live this life daily with Christ. Students are the future of the Church and the World. Even though many in our society have labeled them as “unmotivated, lazy, and rebellious” I know that God sees much more than this in each of them and that they were each created with a specific purpose in mind. It’s my passion to help unlock this mystery to each student and see their lives and relationship with Christ reach its full potential. Ministry Bio Pastor Travis Minnich first felt a calling to work with students when he himself was a student. At the age of 16 while at summer camp he accepted a call of God on his life to work with students and see them fulfilled. Travis attended Southeastern University in Lakeland Florida and graduated in 2004 with a degree in Pastoral Ministry. During his time at college he connected with Real Life Church in Tampa Florida and spent 6 years working alongside another youth pastor in the youth ministry there. Over those years he saw God bless the ministry and grew the group to over 90 students with a student leadership team of 15. During this time God developed a process of seeing students come to know Christ and enter into a discipleship process that allowed for those who were willing to go through the process to be ready to effectively evangelize their friends, family and co-workers. In January 2008, Travis and his family felt their time at Real Life Church had reached an end and accepted a new roll in their ministry. At this time they moved to Galliano Louisiana to take over the youth ministry at Freedom Worship Center. This was different from the previous work done in that Freedom Worship Center previously had a strong youth ministry and at the present time did not have any students attending. Over the next year and a half they began building relationships with the few students that God brought in and started to disciple them. Over this year most of the students either re-dedicated their lives or made first time commitments to Christ. Towards the end of this time the students that were beginning to evangelize their families and friends and they saw growth to around 12 students. Family Bio Pastor Travis Minnich was very blessed by growing up in a family that cared deeply for him and his brother. Early in life he met Sunshine Lucas and they become friends at age 15. God truly blessed this relationship and carried it through for five years. It was after this time that the two were married in 2001. Pastor Travis and Sunshine have three children who daily surprise and amaze them with the joy, love and affection that they bring to the family. |
